This Privacy Policy explains how BullBets LLC ("BullBets," "we," "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the BullBets mobile app and thebullbets.com (together, the "Service"). BullBets provides hand-curated stock and options trade ideas for informational purposes; it is not a broker-dealer or investment adviser, and it does not execute trades on your behalf. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information — your name, email address, and phone number when you create an account, and a unique user ID we assign to your account.
- Sign-in information — if you use Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google, those providers share a token that confirms your identity and, on your first sign-in only, the name and email address you choose to share. We never see or store your Apple or Google password.
- Purchase information — confirmation that a subscription purchase occurred, its plan, and its renewal status. See "Payments and Subscriptions" below — we do not collect or store your payment card, bank, or billing details.
- Device and diagnostic information — a device-specific identifier used to prevent free-trial abuse (see "Preventing Free-Trial Abuse" below), and crash logs and other technical diagnostic data if the app encounters an error.
- Product interaction data — which features and trade ideas you view or interact with in the app, used to run the Service and understand how it's used.
We do not collect your precise or approximate location, contacts, photos, health information, browsing or search history outside the app, or the content of any messages.
Payments and Subscriptions
On iOS, BullBets Premium is sold as an auto-renewable subscription through Apple's in-app purchase system. When you subscribe, Apple — not BullBets — collects and processes your payment information under Apple's own privacy policy. BullBets receives only a confirmation that a purchase was made, the plan purchased, and renewal status; we never see or store your card or bank details. Subscriptions can be managed or cancelled at any time in your Apple Account settings. On other platforms, where we offer web-based billing, payments are processed by Stripe, which similarly handles your card details directly — BullBets does not store them.
New accounts also receive a 30-day free trial that does not require a card or any payment method.
Preventing Free-Trial Abuse
To keep the free trial fair, we use Apple's DeviceCheck to generate a token tied to your device, and we keep a record that combines a one-way cryptographic hash of your device token with a similarly hashed version of your Apple or Google account identifier. This hashed record cannot be reversed back into your device or account identity, and it is not linked to your name, email, or any other personal information in our systems.
Because its only purpose is to detect repeat trial signups, this hashed record is retained even if you delete your BullBets account — deleting your account does not reset trial eligibility for the same device or the same Apple/Google identity.
How We Use Your Information
- To create and maintain your account and authenticate you;
- To deliver trade ideas, alerts, and the features of the Service;
- To verify and manage subscription purchases and trial eligibility;
- To send transactional messages, such as sign-in verification codes and push notifications about new or closed trade ideas;
- To diagnose crashes and technical issues and improve the Service;
- To detect fraud and abuse; and
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not use your information to serve third-party advertising.
Third-Party Service Providers
We share information with the following service providers, solely to operate the Service, and we do not permit them to use it for their own purposes:
- Apple and Google — for sign-in, and, for Apple, in-app purchases and DeviceCheck.
- Resend — to deliver transactional emails (such as sign-in codes).
- Sentry — to receive crash reports and diagnostic data so we can fix bugs.
- Cloud hosting providers — to store account data and run the Service.
Market data used to generate trade ideas comes from providers including Alpaca, Benzinga, and the SEC's EDGAR system; we do not share your personal information with these providers.
We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties, and we do not share it for third-party advertising.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to comply with legal process, protect our rights or property, or protect the safety of our users or the public.
Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Accounts that remain inactive for an extended period may be deleted. As described above, a hashed, non-identifying trial-abuse record is retained separately and is not deleted along with your account.
When you delete your account, we delete your profile and sign you out of all devices. We keep records of past subscriptions and purchases (such as the plan, dates, and amounts) as required for tax, accounting, refund, and fraud-prevention purposes. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription purchased through the App Store — cancel it in your device's Settings to stop future charges.
Your Rights (California and other jurisdictions)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the CPRA, gives you the right to:
- Know what personal information we have collected about you and why;
- Request deletion of your personal information;
- Correct inaccurate personal information; and
- Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA, so there is no opt-out of sale to exercise. Residents of other jurisdictions with similar privacy laws may have comparable rights. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at contact@thebullbets.com, or delete your account directly within the app.
Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use industry-standard measures, including encryption of data in transit, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
International Users
The Service is currently offered only to users in the United States. If we expand availability to other countries, we will update this policy accordingly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the effective date below and, where appropriate, through the app or by email.
